The KONE MiniSpace™ DX High-Rise is an advanced high-rise elevator designed to improve building performance with innovations like the KONE UltraRope® lightweight hoisting technology, inbuilt connectivity to enable predictive maintenance services and other digital solutions, optimized space usage, lower energy consumption, and reduced carbon emissions over the elevator lifecycle. The KONE MiniSpace™ DX Double Deck uses the same core high-rise technology but places two elevator cars in a single shaft, one directly above the other, so it can serve two adjacent floors at the same time. This allows a building to move significantly more passengers through the same shaft space.
Yes. Because the KONE MiniSpace™ DX Double Deck moves two elevator cars to two different floors in a single trip, it relies on an advanced destination control system – such as KONE Destination – to assign passengers efficiently and coordinate both decks. This ensures minimal waiting time and smooth operation, even during peak traffic periods like the start of the workday.
The KONE MiniSpace™ DX High-Rise is designed for high-rise buildings that require high performance, maximum space efficiency, and lower lifecycle costs. It is suitable for new construction projects and helps increase long-term building value through optimized shaft design, reduced structural loads, and increased rentable space. Across all high-rise travel ranges, KONE UltraRope® further improves system efficiency through its lightweight and durable hoisting technology.
KONE UltraRope® is a lightweight hoisting technology with a carbon fiber core that replaces traditional steel ropes. It is exceptionally durable – lasting up to three times longer than steel ropes – with no permanent elongation, while also reducing energy consumption and lifecycle carbon emissions and improving availability in windy conditions.
KONE UltraRope® is up to 80% lighter than conventional steel ropes, significantly reducing the mass that needs to be moved and accelerated during every elevator journey. This lower moving mass reduces energy consumption, decreases drivetrain loads, and improves overall system efficiency. Combined with KONE Advanced DCS with energy management, the KONE MiniSpace™ DX High-Rise can reduce total energy consumption during a typical office day by up to 31%.
